Sow and Grow
Third and Fourth class are taking part in a programme called Sow and Grow. We have planted runner beans, baby carrots and cress seeds. We are going to track our progress in our Sow and Grow journals. Hopefully we will have something nice to eat, that we have grown ourselves, at the end of the process. We will keep you updated with photographs. You can check out the website www.innocentsowandgrow.com

This is Us
We have finished putting together our personal timelines. We gathered photographs of ourselves and put them in chronological order. We had a lot of chat and laughter while sharing our photographs with each other. We then presented them nicely on paper and now they are on display outside our classroom and outside the school hall. Come and have a look :)

Water Wizardry

We labelled each jar and added a different substance (salt, sugar, flour, pepper, rice or sand) to each. We observed what happened, then we mixed and observed further. Sugar and salt dissolves in water. The flour and pepper mixed a little with the water. The rice and sand did not dissolve or mix. We repeated the experiment with hot water to

Sounds great!
We made some simple poems more interesting by adding sounds to them. We used vocal and body percussion and a selection of percussion instruments. We worked in groups and when we were finished we presented our new and improved poetry to the class.

Barnacarroll Quiz teams doing us proud!
Here are two teams that recently represented our school. Deacon, Amber, Alanna and Jack participated in the Credit Union quiz last weekend in the Town Hall. The Sports Quiz took place yesterday evening in the Boy's School, Claremorris. Our team members were Conor, Padraic, Leah and T.J. We are delighted with both teams, well done to you all! We are experts on all things sports related! Senior Credit Union team, they impressed us with their general knowledge.
